American Airlines And British Airways Code-sharing

April 28, 2007

Code-sharing between American Airlines and British Airways is big news from oneworld Airline Alliance, it was revealed on September 17, 2003.

Both American Airlines and British Airways are founding members so this is long overdue and a bit like a married couple making peace and finally talking to each other!

This blockbuster announcement follows the most recent code-sharing between Cathay Pacific Airways and Quantas Airways last week.
If we do the math this means code-sharing is now effective between 20 of the potential 28 code-sharing pairings of oneworld airline partners.

When the parents are happy the kids are happy, travelers can transfer between their networks at a greater efficiency and fly to the 562 destinations with less of a chance of a major screw-up.
