Malev Hungarian Airlines Accepting Alliance Membership

Malev Hungarian Airlines has formally accepted its membership to oneworld Airline Alliance, announced on November 22, 2005.

Finnair will be the sponsor of Malev into oneworld membership providing assistance with connecting of computer systems, training employees, setting up procedures (and if you know this blog already) plus yes purchasing new stationary with the pretty oneworld Alliance logo.

Malev Hungarian Airlines or Hungary itself is not a global player by any means. This alliance will ensure financial success in the future of this government owned airline.

Businessflyer Tickets For Dutch Business Travelers

oneworld Alliance is offering its popular businessflyer tickets to business travelers in The Netherlands and Belgium, announced on November 3, 2005.

Dutch business travelers will enjoy discounts up to 50% to fly from Amsterdam and Brussels to more than 190 cities in Europe, North America, South American, Asia and Australiasia.

Businessflyer tickets have been hugely popular in Germany, France and Switzerland.

Japan Airlines JAL Joining oneworld Alliance

Japan Airlines JAL is joining oneworld Alliance as announced on October 25, 2005.

JAL is the largest airline in the Asia-Pacific region and would become the largest member of oneworld Alliance.
Japan Airlines would contribute to oneworld Alliance with around 10% with 68 destinations - 56 of them in Japan and five in China and one territory: Guam.

oneworld Alliance’s existing members currently serve 134 countries and 599 destinations.
By the acquisition of JAL, Royal Jordanian and Malév, the oneworld route map would expand to 686 destinations in 140 countries and territories.

Royal Jordanian Joining oneworld Airline Alliance

Royal Jordanian Airlines has agreed to join oneworld Airline Alliance on October 17, 2005 as the first airline of the Middle East and Gulf region.

His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein accepted the invitation formally at the Royal Palace in Amman.

Royal Jordanian Airlines will have to go through the usual oneworld boot camp which consist of training Royal Jordanian employees, connection computer systems and as usual brand new stationary.

At the time of this announcement Royal Jordanian served 51 destinations in 33 countries.

Businessflyer Tickets For Swiss Business Travelers

oneworld airline alliance is spreading its wings towards Swiss business travelers as announced on October 12, 2005.

Small and medium-sized Swiss companies are eligible to register for specially discounted “businessflyer” tickets and will able to save up to 50% off airfares.
Swiss business travelers will be able to fly to more than 190 cities in Europe, North America, South American, Asia and Australiasia traveling on any of the oneworld alliance member airlines.

Businessflyer program has already been a huge success in Germany and France.

oneworld Alliance airline members received multiple awards for their in-flight entertainment services as announced on October 5, 2005. oneworld member cleared house with 7 of the 12 Avion awards given out by the World Airline Entertainment Association.

Airline members from other alliances received two awards between them.

This would be a life saver for Malev Airlines the mid sized airline owned by the Hungarian government. In today’s competitive airline industry belonging to an alliance is one sure way to cut costs and increase revenues. But no all airline alliances are created equal! Regional Air Leaves oneworld Alliance

Regional Air and British Airways discontinued their relationship which is resulting in the departure of Regional Air from oneworld Alliance.

The Kenya based airline is no longer part of the world’s largest airline alliance, this cannot be good news but standards for oneworld membership are very high, only the best members will last. This news is from April 19 2005.
